No worries, well at least for another day and a bit, no pressure, good wine, sun and food.
All good in Spuds world.
Next week will be different here all the little darlings from school will be released on half term and will decend on all of the Med resorts with their parents spoiling the peace with their cries of Tarquin, Chardenay and Wayne shouted all over the resorts swimming pools and restraurants....God help us there memories so short due to copious amounts of the local brews and cocktails all their childrens names have to be tattooed onto their bodies just in case they forget.....
I have had a good week this week.....just in time...

Mmmmmmmmm

A man walks into a bar and the peanuts say "Oh, you look delightful". Then the fruit machine says "I don't think much of his hair".

The barman comes over and says "sorry about that the peanuts are complimentary but the fruit machine is out of order."

AT LAST

Well that time of year is here again when l get the chance to chill out for a week....it’s been a long time coming but tomorrow l am off to Zante for a week of well just chillin.
The only thing with flying away...and no l am not going to go on about carbon foot print surly that volcano has belched Co2 into the atmosphere for long enough now for my little trip to pail into insignificance no it’s the flying ........... hours of boredom only interrupted by minutes of terror .....Take off and landing.
Still l am not going to let that spoil my week.

Spare us a few pence guv........

Here we go just days into this new regime and we are off to a good start. They left us no money in the pot as they left and closed the door so how about everyone pulls together and gives us some more money to waste and squander.

You can trust us, we will get you all through this recession and after losing your home, savings, marriage and kids into slave labour you will thank us........

What for? Have l not trusted all the other Governments to look after my wages, savings and pensions?.........is it my fault that most of the people that have been telling me “you will have to tighten your belt “ been falsely claiming expenses for a long long time.

As we talk are there not plans to make 100 more peers of the realm…….why? do we really need more…now don’t get me wrong if you have spent a lifetime helping others and put yourself out in such a way that nobody else has l don’t have a problem.

Some people just get a peerage for stupid things that make no difference to peoples lives hitting a cricket ball and you where in the team to do what? Kicking a few goals in a net …we paid you thousands of pounds a week to do that.
The biggest mystery of all a fat slob that forgets his roots and called himself Deputy Prime Minister...What was his real job what did he have on Tony Blair to make him keep such a foul mouthed useless indiavidual in a cabinet posistion for so long?

The harder working you are the less you get…….end of .

Sunday bloody Sunday

Sunday is here again. It's a funny day is Sunday, the day before you go back to work, the day you get to eat a big roast dinner if your lucky and the last day to chill out and read the papers.

It used to be a real day of rest a few years ago when shops where not open and you only had three channels on the telly to watch, was there rubbish on the telly then? I am not sure. The Sunday afternoon film used to keep us amused it would always be cowboys and Indians or a war film with action that did not include 3kilos of fresh liver being splattered across the screen.

Violence on films was left more for the viewer to interpret using your own imagination. These days it seem your not allowed to use your imagination it has to be as graphic as possible so you can sit there and just stare brain dead at the screen and then, as the young of today seem to do, go out at night get tanked up on cheap cider and take on the world and act out what they have seen without a second thought to what they are doing or the consequences of it, l wonder how they would feel if it where their mother, father, sibling taken on by a gang and left for dead.

Trouble is l fear they have no feelings and it would just go on without a second thought.

God l must be feeling a bit down on the young today, is it because they always get home from a night out just as l have fallen asleep and wake me up by putting the light on. Then they always seem to bring a whole herd of elephants up the stairs to bed with them what was the point of those ballet lessons when now they are so heavy footed the house shakes when they walk. Then the next morning you say something …..like…did you have a good night? and you just get a grunt directed in your direction ‘ sorry didn’t quite catch that’ ….’ohhhh your always checking up on me’…….here we go another great day with the kids…….

Life has changed a bit

Life has changed a bit...I no longer have a wife holding me back the children are getting older and l find myself missing those days when they were toddlers. They used to make me laugh with their funny ways and sayings they would come out with.
Now as they are getting older making their own way in the world taking desistions that will affect their lives and the jobs they decide to undertake. Occasionally they will ask for advice and l will readily give it from the wealth of experience l have gained over the years, some of it useless now like how to change a typewriter ribbon and adjusts the points on a cars ignition. The best time to see your bank manager for a car loan which of course was after lunch on a Friday when he had been out to the pub and indulged in a few light and bitters. All things move on of course it’s just that time seems to be moving on quicker and quicker time flies children are no longer children but young adults and summers seem shorter not just because of the ash cloud fallout from next doors barbecue and now Iceland is getting its own back after the financial collapse of its banks.
Where will it all end I wonder with a sense of concern of the pending future ahead ………..

Just a thought to all you face book fans....

Start this up again and.......

I have to try and remember how to Iog on to this thing......well all is fine whilst l can google it and up it pops at the top of the list....but....when that does not happen all hell sets lose in my haggled brain. I can not think of the blog site, is it because of the day l have had at work that makes my brain turn into mushy grey useless mess, is it all the things I am trying to remember to do?
I am not sure it could just be that getting older seems to flick your brain into a whirl of action that cannot concentrate on one subject as it turns and somersaults inside your head  and all sorts of daft things pop into your mind and worse still spout from your mouth which leaves people listening to you wide mouthed in a amazed fashion as though some green man has just fallen out of the sky and landed at their feet. This strange green alien looking at them speaking in some strange tounge.......perhaps a glass of wine and a early night are needed...before morning and the long trip back to my planet where only I know what colour the sky is..!!

Take me to your muddled brain

The fat cats have had it

Fat cats are being told to clean up their acts....

Thoughts on pay

For a lot of people, the weekly pay packet is "take-home pay" because home is the only place they can afford to go with it.

Thoughts on getting old

A diplomat is a man who always remembers a woman's birthday but never remembers her age.

There's no pleasure on earth that's worth sacrificing for the sake of an extra five years in the geriatric ward of the Sunset Old People's Home, Weston-Super-Mare.

hello again

Should l continue this blog...........mmmm need something to do....
