Life has changed a bit

Life has changed a bit...I no longer have a wife holding me back the children are getting older and l find myself missing those days when they were toddlers. They used to make me laugh with their funny ways and sayings they would come out with.
Now as they are getting older making their own way in the world taking desistions that will affect their lives and the jobs they decide to undertake. Occasionally they will ask for advice and l will readily give it from the wealth of experience l have gained over the years, some of it useless now like how to change a typewriter ribbon and adjusts the points on a cars ignition. The best time to see your bank manager for a car loan which of course was after lunch on a Friday when he had been out to the pub and indulged in a few light and bitters. All things move on of course it’s just that time seems to be moving on quicker and quicker time flies children are no longer children but young adults and summers seem shorter not just because of the ash cloud fallout from next doors barbecue and now Iceland is getting its own back after the financial collapse of its banks.
Where will it all end I wonder with a sense of concern of the pending future ahead ………..
